WINE ON TAP
Many of us have never seen anything but beer on tap. It makes sense to us: kegs, CO2, beer, taps. We’ve become so familiar with it that as the public, we don’t even think twice. But what about wine? Wine on tap is such a strange concept to most that it’s asked about on a daily basis at our winery and warehouse locations. Well, fear no more! Wine on tap is here, and its going to change the world.
Wine on Tap has been sweeping the nation as the newest way to serve great quality wine. However, don’t mistake Wine on Tap as the new “cheap, boxed wine trend” – all the wine that’s kegged here at Carr Winery is made just the same way as all of our delicious, boutique-style wine. Just at much love, passion, sweat, tears, late nights, and early mornings go into each keg. Overall, the wine making process is exactly the same, but instead of going from barrel to bottle, it goes barrel to keg. Most wine kegs are about 5 gallons (about 26 bottles of wine, about 130 glasses), made of stainless steel, and pressurized under Nitrogen, a naturally present, inert gas that makes up about 78% of the air we breathe everyday.
With Wine On Tap, not only do you get to bring home some super stylish Carr Winery growlers, but when you enjoy wine on tap by the glass, you get a fresh glass every time. It’s just like opening a fresh bottle each time you pour a glass! The kegs eliminate bottle oxidation, the frustration of uncorking bottles, and the terrible guilt we all feel by having to pour out half a bottle of wine because we left it open on the counter for three days. (Who are we kidding? …I’d still drink it.) BUT in all seriousness, tossing out wine is no fun for individual consumers, as well as wineries and restaurants. Waste is just about 100% eliminated with the Wine on Tap system.
Now while we are all about not wasting wine, what about our environment? If you haven’t been convinced yet that Wine on Tap is probably the best invention EVER and are not already installing a system into your bedroom nightstand, the environmental benefits will have you hooked. Kegging wine results in a 96% reduction in carbon footprint versus the traditional serving of wine from a bottle over the course of 20 years, and each steel keg introduced into service eliminates the same about of carbon emission that one car puts out for TWO WHOLE YEARS!
Don’t miss out on being apart of this new revolution in the ever growing wine industry! Come into either of our locations and take home not only some fantastic wine, but some epic knowledge on how you’re saving the world…. One keg at a time.
