- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (14-oz), thawed
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp. water
- 4 oz. goat cheese
- 4 oz. low-fat cream cheese
- ⅓ c. sour cream
- ⅓ c. honey
- ¾ lbs. fresh bing cherries, cut in half and pitted
- ¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- ½ c. slivered almonds, toasted
Directions:
1. Roll out crust and place in a tart pan. Bake as directed, remove from oven, and set aside.
2. Heat oven to 375ºF. Beat the egg in a small bowl, and mix the beaten egg with water. Brush this egg wash over sides and bottom of the crust. Place back in the oven to bake for 2-3 more minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
3. Cream the honey, goat cheese, cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth. Spread goat cheese filling over the tart shell.
4. Arrange the pitted cherries over the filling, covering the entire area. Sprinkle pepper and toasted almonds over the cherries. Place tart in oven and bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Serve at room temperature.
