With daylight savings time around the corner and each evening giving us a little extra sunlight, this is the perfect time of year to dust off the grill and start spending more time outdoors. Try grilling up some salmon topped with zingy nectarine salsa, while enjoying a glass of 2015 Carr Pinot Noir from the Yard Vineyard.

Every year, its the same old thing. Turkey on Thanksgiving, ham at Christmas… We suggest mixing it up this year with these Cornish game hens! Everyone gets their own bird, so there is no fighting over wings, thighs or breasts. Make it even better (but arguably less memorable!) and pass out individual bottles of 2015 Carr Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir as well.
One of my favorite foods for the winter and the holiday season is scalloped potatoes. But potatoes can be so heavy, especially when prepared with cheese and butter. So we figured, why not try scalloping some sweet potatoes instead? Try this unique twist on scalloped potatoes with a glass of 2014 Carr Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir.
With hints of dark berries, vanilla and cocoa, the 2015 Carr Syrah from Morehouse Vineyard is delicate yet full bodied, smooth yet flavorful. This wine goes great with desserts that aren’t too sweet. The fresh berries and the creamy panna cotta in this recipe make this pairing a match made in heaven.
Thanksgiving is such a great holiday for so many reasons – family and friends come together to share thanks while indulging in tasty food paired with delicious wines. Everyone has a signature turkey, mashed potato, and stuffing recipe – these are the traditional foods that we love about the holiday. But we love to mix up the side dishes! We want you to be prepared, so we are sharing a few of our choice side dishes, paired with our favorite Carr wines.
With bright cranberry and mild acidity, 2014 Carr Pinot Noir from The Yard Vineyard is a great match for foods that are salty or cheesy. This wine is able to maintain it’s flavors and body through the prosciutto and the mozzarella in this dish in the most elegant of ways. Another great Carr wine to try with this meal is the 2015 El Guapo!
