Morehouse Vineyard
Morehouse Vineyard is a 2-acre vineyard that is located on a very low south-facing hillside next to the Alamo Pintado Creek in The Santa Ynez Valley. The vineyard is very unique because it has one of the last plantings of the Syrah Durell clone left in the area. The vines struggle in a silty, clay soil producing a low yield with concentrated flavors. Morehouse Vineyard was established in 1984 by Brian Morehouse and in 2005, Ryan Carr took over the care of the vineyard. The first Morehouse Vineyard Syrah grown and produced by Carr Winery was in 2007. Over the years this has become one of our best Syrah vineyards.
